This information includes the type of seed sown, type of fertilizers and pesticide, source of irrigation. Their are 3 options to choose from :
- Wheat, Rice, Fruits and Vegetables grown from indigenous seeds and chemical fertilizers and pesticides. This option is available at local sabzi waalahs (vegetable vendors) and at Sabzi Mandi (vegetable market).
- Hybrid Fruits and Vegetables and food grown from Genetically Modified seeds and further use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. This option is available at branded grocery stores. Now, sabzi mandi also has hybrid vegetables.
3. Wheat, Rice, Fruits and vegetables grown with indigenous seeds and strictly no use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Creepy Reality of Monsanto & Bayer, the most evil companies :
The Monsanto Company was an American agrochemical and agricultural biotechnology corporation founded in 1901 and headquartered in Creve Coeur, Missouri.
The 500,000 children born with birth defects and the millions more who suffered health problems because of Agent Orange have one corporation to thank: Monsanto. “The World’s Most Evil Corporation” has destroyed human lives for over a century, bringing to market some of the most harmful chemical substances ever to be created by scientists.
From saccharin to aspartame, from DDT to Agent Orange, from PCBs to Synthetic Bovine Growth Hormone, from dioxin to glyphosate, Monsanto has caused more health problems and destroyed the environment in more ways than can ever be fathomed. No amount of lawsuits, no regulatory agencies, no justice department, and no Supreme Court has ever been able to stop this corporation. If one Monsanto chemical gets banned, another is there to fill the void, causing oxidative stress, hormone imbalances, genetic defects, and organ system toxicity in humans for several generations. How long will the devastation last?
Monsanto was the brainchild of John Francis Queeny, a thirty-year pharmaceutical pro. The company, Monsanto Chemical Works, was named after his beautiful wife, Olga Mendez Monsanto. Founded in 1901, Monsanto’s first chemical invention was saccharin, an artificial sweetener. Incorporating saccharin into their beverage formulas, Coca-Cola was the first company to jump on board with Monsanto’s toxic influence. The U.S. government had evidence of saccharin’s toxicity and even ventured to sue Monsanto, but the government lost. This only emboldened Monsanto for many years to come.
PCBs, DDT, and dioxin destroy the world for decades
In the 1930s, they began experimenting with genetic modification of crops. In the 1940s the corporation was conscripted by the government to enrich uranium and work for the Manhattan Project. Monsanto had its hands on the world’s most nefarious invention, the first atomic bomb, which was ultimately used to burn the populations of Hiroshima and Nagasaki into shadows on the concrete.
Monsanto was also the brainchild behind the insecticide DDT, used from 1944 to 1957. In those days, benign childhood infections such as polio became serious nervous system disorders in large part because DDT was liberally sprayed throughout communities and directly on children to combat mosquitoes. DDT not only was banned because it destroyed ecology, but it also imposed serious immune system issues in humans. Dr. Morton S. Biskind’s brave scientific work showed how DDT destroyed the central nervous system, causing damage to the cerebellum and spinal cord.
Today, it’s only fitting that Monsanto has merged with Bayer, a company that manufactured and sold the chemicals that were used to kill Jews in Nazi Germany. Bayer, along with BASF and Hoechst, originally merged as IG Farben and contributed heavily to Adolf Hitler. In return, Hitler relied on the chemical manufacturers to create Zyklon B, a chemical weapon used in Auschwitz and other concentration camps to exterminate the Jews who were too old, too small, or too weak to work. The Monsanto-Bayer merger provides perpetual funds to settle upcoming cases on glyphosate.
Monsanto manipulates government to poison the world with aspartame, rBGH, GMOs, and glyphosate
By 1994, Monsanto had regulatory agencies so trained, the FDA quickly approved synthetic Bovine Growth Hormone (rBGH) for use in milk products, even though there was significant scientific backlash. The synthetic hormone, produced from genetically modified E. coli bacteria, became a hit until dairy companies fully realized what was happening to their product and to those who drank it. When dairy companies stopped using the synthetic hormone and began using rBGH-free labels on their products, Monsanto sued!
Just as they attacked dairy producers for not going along with rBGH, Monsanto filed frivolous suits against farmers. Monsanto sued farmers for infringing on their seed patents because Monsanto’s terminator seeds blow into their fields, causing cross-bred seed varieties. These lawsuits forced many farmers into bankruptcy and gave Monsanto authority to ruin traditional agriculture. Monsanto’s terrorism continued unabated after the turn of the century as GMO crops failed in India, destroying farmers’ lives and causing wide-scale suicides so families could survive on death insurance payments.

GMO in India :
Their are 2 types of G.M.O variety officially approved in India by Indian Council for Agricultural Research i.e B.T Cotton and G.M Mustard. But, many other vegetables like GMO cucumber are being grown and sold unofficially :
Collaboration of Monsanto with Indian companies :
Monsanto licences its patent for Bt technology to 48 Indian seed companies. These companies hand over the seeds they develop to Monsanto, which then injects them with Bt technology. These seeds are returned to the company, which then breeds more seeds that are sold to the farmer.
The biggest of these Indian seed companies is Nuziveedu in Hyderabad – a domestic company with investors such as Blackstone, which gave them a $50-million funding in 2008. These licencing deals earn Monsanto big bucks – in 2013, as per its filings with the Patent Office, Monsanto made a cool Rs 685 crores by licencing this patent to Indian seed companies.

Maharashtra Hybrid Seeds Co. (Mahyco) is an agricultural company based in India. B. R. Barwale founded the company in 1964. It is one of the country’s major producers of seed. As of 2015, the company was also active in Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines and Bangladesh, and planned expansion to Africa. The company produces seeds for cotton, wheat, rice, sorghum, pearl millet, maize oilseeds and vegetables crops. Through a joint venture with Monsanto named Mahyco Monsanto Biotech, Mahyco sublicenses Bt cotton technology in India. The Indian government has maintained price controls on Bt cotton seeds since at least 2011.

Vandana Shiva (born 5 November 1952) is an Indian scholar, environmental activist, food sovereignty advocate and anti-globalisation author. Based in Delhi, Shiva has written more than 20 books. She is often referred to as “Gandhi of grain” for her activism associated with the anti-GMO movement.
Vandana Shiva won the case against Monsanto in Supreme Court.
The building analogy by Vandana Shiva :
Shiva’s piece begins with an analogy – she likens the absurdity of a person claiming ownership over a building on grounds that they moved furniture into it to companies like Monsanto claiming intellectual property rights over genetically modified seeds on the basis of the modified genes they insert into the seed.
This does not really make sense because a modified gene is not comparable to furniture in a building. Genes are the building blocks of any living organism – a better analogy would have been special patented bricks that were used to construct a building.
Thanks to the case of Bt Cotton, we have already seen what GMO crops can do in terms of destruction. Farmers have been committing suicide because of debt due to the high cost of seeds. Since Bayer-Monsanto has been focused on extracting patent royalties, the price of seed has jumped 80,000%.
They have extracted Rs 7,000 crore as illegal royalties. Under Indian Patent law article 3j, Bayer-Monsanto does not have a patent on Bt cotton seed, since the law does not allow patents on seeds, plants and animals. But they have been manipulating and attacking India’s courts to weaken article 3j, thus attacking our democratic and farmers rights.
For the poison cartel, there are no plants and animals with their own integrity. Life is a corporate “invention”. For Bayer-Monsanto, GMO means God Move Over, we will now pretend to be creators of life to collect royalties and Lagaan. Patents and royalty collection is the endgame; GMOs are the excuse.

3) Seed saving of indigenous seeds and gardening in your home garden :
After eating the fruits and vegetables purchased from Natural and Organic Farmers mandis, we should not throw away the seeds. We should save those seeds in mud pots. We can hire a local gardener who can then grow those fruits and vegetables in your garden. The practise of seed saving helps in saving a lot of money as we do not have to purchase the seed from the market.
